Iain is a resident of Kettering and feels strongly about the threat to libraries because his local library as a teenager played a pivotal role in shaping his life and career in IT.

Northamptonshire County Council has announced a series of “drop-in public consultation events” to support the consultation on the budget proposals which includes the review of libraries.

These events have been organised for people to go along to give their views, and service leads for the relevant proposals will be available to answer questions. County Councillors have also been invited to attend the sessions.

There will be an event in each district/borough council area, and the first four have been announced during Phase 1 as follows:

South Northamptonshire District Council Area

Thursday 16 November, 4pm to 7:30pm
@ Riverside Resource Centre, Islington Road, Towcester NN12 6AU

Northampton Borough Council Area

Wednesday 22 November, 4pm to 7:30pmĀ 
@ Carnegie Room, Northampton Central Library, Abington Street, Northampton NN1 2BA

Wellingborough Borough Council Area

Tuesday 28 November, 4pm to 7:30pm
Oxford Street Resource Centre, 38 Oxford Street, Wellingborough NN8 4JG

Corby Borough Council Area

Thursday 30 November, 4pm to 7:30pm
@ Patrick Road Resource Centre, Patrick Road, Corby NN18 9NT

The remaining district and borough areas, along with a second event for Northampton, will be held during Phase 2 and those dates will be announced in due course.
